【摘要】:Themetabolicrate,asaconversionofchemicalintomechanicalandthermalenergy,measurestheenergeticcostofmuscularloadandgivesanumericalindexofactivity.Metabolicrateisanimportantdeterminantofthecomfortorthestrainresultingfromexposuretoathermalenvironment.Inparticular,inhotclimates,thehighlevelsofmetabolicheatproductionassociatedwithmuscularworkaggravateheatstress,aslargeamountsofheatneedtobedissipated,mostlybysweatevaporation.ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesdifferentmethodsforthedeterminationofmetabolicrateinthecontextofergonomicsoftheclimaticworkingenvironment.Itcanalsobeusedforotherapplications—forexample,theassessmentofworkingpractices,theenergeticcostofspecificjobsorsportactivities,thetotalcostofanactivity,etc.Theestimations,tablesandotherdataincludedinthisInternationalStandardconcernan"average"individual:—aman30yearsoldweighing70kgand1,75mtall(bodysurfacearea1,8m);—awoman30yearsoldweighing60kgand1,70mtall(bodysurfacearea1,6m).Usersshouldmakeappropriatecorrectionswhentheyaredealingwithspecialpopulationsincludingchildren,agedpersons,peoplewithphysicaldisabilities,etc
